  • AMD leaks have been plentiful this weekend, just days before the Hawaii event. There have been leaks/rumors surrounding the new video cards and there has been leaks/rumors about Kaveri. Lets talk about Kaveri. The most recent rumors surrounding Kaveri are that the chip will top out at 832 stream processors instead of 512. The “leaks” show the chip posting several hundred percent gains in benchmarks over CPUs that cant take advantage of gpgpu compute like HSA can, all on 3GB of 1600 DDR3. Kaveri is going to be the first chip ever to support HSA, so hearing rumors that it...

  •   When you think of 28nm, what do you think of? I think of Nvidia kepler (NVDA), AMD’s 7000 series(AMD), Qualcomm’s s4 krait’s (QCOM), Texas Instruments (TXN) Omap’s and the public fab that makes it all happen, Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company (TSM:NYSE). Right away you are most likely thinking this is going to be yet another post about CPU’s, GPU’s and SOC’s, while technically is it, the focus today is about the supply and demand of 28nm and the stock that will benefit from its shortage. It seems that lately, all the rage has been surrounding 28nm parts, and for...

  •   So it seems that someone is pissed off at btcguild.com. The popular bitcoin mining pool went under a DDoS attack sometime late 07.05.2011 and has been down since. The site only had around 700 miners running around noon of 07.06 and that was only from the USeast server. As of right now as I am writing this, 10ish pm 07.06, it looks as if the servers are just down till the DDoS attacks stop. They are saying that the attack is most likely retaliation from a banning of a mining botnet. Some crazy folk are obviously speculating that the...

  • If you are wondering how the Corsair H50 water cooler stacks up to CoolerMasters V8 air cooler, here is my real world (ghetto) review. Now, I have been running CM’s V8 for some years now and have always wanted to get the H50 because I overclock and am always looking for that bit of extra headroom so I can raise the clock a wee bit more. When the H50 first hit the market I decided to wait to see how the thing stood up to its air cooling competitors, but could never find definitive reviews with both coolers going toe...

  • Ok, more rumors flying around the web about AMD and their upcoming processors. Yep, I thought the horses were beaten into extinction too. Now the guys over at bit-tech.net, they are good at following the PC hardware industry, as they follow with a microscope. Today they posted info on a leaked slide detailing AMD’s upcoming Bulldozer chips. A slide leaked out of ASUS? As more and more attention is being drawn towards ASUS, the manufacturer of the elusive EeePad Transformer, does the company have to start cracking down on who they let in their front door? The culprit that leaked...
